Results of first phase of program to define resistojet control system for manned orbiting research laboratory (MORL); 10-mib hydrogen ammonia, and biowaste thruster systems are defined to satisfy impulse requirements arising from aerodynamic and gravity-gradient forces in orbit; of available biowastes (H2, Co2 and fecal water), CO2 output alone was sufficient to provide impulse requirements for 10-mlb system; however, combined CO2/H2 system permits greater growth capability at expense of simplicity; use of resistojet thruster system to provide orbit injection and high-disturbance control impulse was also investigated.
