Basic system analyzed is composed of triad of orthogonally-mounted single-degree-of-freedom rate-integrating gyros; reliability model for system is formulated, and compared with models for system and component redundancy utilizing six sensors, and with nine-sensor voting configuration; last system provides high reliability and advantages over competing systems; approach is probed in detail.
