New ferry is powered by "father and son" arrangement of two larger and two smaller diesel engines (Smit-MAN 12- and 6-cyl sets), and was built for Townsend Car Ferries Ltd, at Werf Gusto shipyard at Schiedam; length oa 385 ft 6 1/2 in., breadth molded at main deck 60 ft 11 5/8 in., depth molded to shelter deck 33 ft 7 in., molded draft 12 ft 11 7/8 in., dw 820 tons; 1200 passengers and 250 cars can be carried; plan.
