To provide greater understanding of thermochemical nature of expanding high-enthalpy airflows, studies have been conducted to compare experimental data with range of applicability of exact one-dimensional reacting flow theory; three types of aiflow, near-equilibrium, nonequilibrium, and "near-frozen", were examined in contoured nozzle designed to duplicate Mach 10 flight; comparison of theoretical and experimental results.
