Increased use of open- and closed-loop types of drives on vehicles creates greater need for understanding their application requirements; hydraulic circuitry must be arranged to accommodate braking, wheel spin out, differential speeds, and overhauling loads; equal consideration must be given to fluid type, filtration, temperature control, and reservoir configuration; fluids used must be kept clean and within safe operating temperature range, and must be compatible with all of component parts of system: component problems after drive selection comprise reservoir, configuration, filtration, fluids, and temperature control; experience gained at Dynex Co and recommendations made.
