Mechanism is described which has six degrees of freedom controlled in any combination by six motors, each having ground abutment; variations in control arrangements are described and their respective design merits considered; mechanism has no fixed axes relative to ground, and is particularly suitable for truly simulating flight conditions (especially banking) in pilot training; also applicable to platform held stationary in ship, helicopter simulators, new forms of universal milling machine, automatic assembly machines, off-shore drilling rigs, etc.
