Opinion survey conducted by Flight Safety Foundation of Cornell-Guggenheim Aviation Safety Center, on problem of retaining crew vigilance; environmental and subjective factors; it is suggested that design of cockpits should be treated on integrated basis with objective to avoid soporific monotony, distractions, discomfort, and restlessness considering effect of one component on other and of all on crew; aspects treated include visibility, ventilation, controls, noise, etc.
