Experimental system under development by Westinghouse is based on use of inertia-controlled hydraulic power to stabilize complete vehicle; system has been tested as conversion on existing cars, although it shows best results on chassis specially designed; springs are used to support car's static weight, telescopic dampers are replaced by 2-way hydraulic actuators, linked by flexible pipes to control system which is mounted on car's structure close to each wheel, and on engine there is hydraulic pump with reservoir and pressure accumulator; 4 hydraulic actuators are working elements of suspension; components and principle of operation of controller unit.
