Experimental investigation carried out jointly by Bureau of Standards and Ordnance Department, U. S. A.; lift, drag, and center of pressure measurements were made on 6 airfoils of type used by Air Service in propeller design, at speeds ranging from 550 to 1000 ft. per sec.; results show definite limit to speed at which airfoils may efficiently be used to produce lift.
