Locomotives are of split-phase type; single-phase power is changed into 3-phase power by means of main transformer and rotating machine, called phase converter, whence it is fed to main traction motors. Three units coupled, 152 ft. long, weighing 1,276,000 lb., with 277,500 tractive power; under construction by Westinghouse Elec. and Mfg. Co.
