Problems involved in introducing air conditioning in small executive aircraft are considered; paper covers early studies and hardware for "add on" package units, system selection studies for small pressurized turbine powered aircraft, system design including structural changes required, testing, development and service experience on Beech King Air cooling system and possible future development trends; King Air Model 90 and Queen Air Model 88 air conditioning system includes 75,000 Btu freon type refrigerative cooler; both units operate through automatic temperature control that switches between heating and cooling modes to keep cabin comfortable from ground to cruise altitude.
