Study of problems anticipated with introduction of SST into Air Traffic Control system indicated that SST design allowances for time and fuel for maneuvering during climbouts may not be sufficient, that there is greater communications-navigation workload for SST than for subsonic jet transport during descent, and that use of flight director to command pitch control guidance for pilot would be helpful.
