Tanker of 2600 tons owned by Standard Oil Co of California and operated by subsidiary, California Shipping Co, was built by Albina Engine and Machine Works; 18,000 bbl ship is designed to safely enter shallow-draft areas along coast to service fishing, canning and lumbering installations as well as domestic demands; length oa 225 ft, depth 21 ft, beam 42 ft; 8-cyl Nordberg diesel engine is rated 1700 bhp at 500 rpm.
