Through study in which attitudes of drivers toward two highways were measured, attempt was made to determine utility of attitude scaling methods for predicting choice, and for use in highway design, traffic planning in general, and predicting use that will be made of new and improved highways; in addition to attitudes of drivers, traffic characteristics of routes were measured and tension generated on each was determined; nine test drivers were used for tension tests.
