Canada has assumed responsibility of completely maintaining and manning most northerly of six weather stations in North Pacific, and three ships have been assigned for this work; St Catharines and Stonetown were formerly naval frigates and complete reconversion job had to be undertaken; work is briefly outlined; St Stephen previously served at weather station in North Atlantic; schedule outlined.
