Canadian Pacific Ry, St Luc Yard is first retarder hump yard in Canada and embodies features new to North American railroading; it is 3 1/2 mi long and has more than 75 mi of track; operated with all electric retarders and with hump with under track inspection pit and automatic scale, it will handle up to 3000 cars per day; layout is complete with 37-stall engine house with direct steaming facilities, machine shop with 3-track drop table, large capacity steam power plant, etc. (See also Can Transportation v 129 n 7 July 1950 p 361-9)
