Author believes that helicopters are still long way from offering best compromise from standpoint of private owner, and that fixed wing type will dominate immediate future; discussion is pertinent primarily to fixed wing type aircraft; types of plane which will be offered post war public are described and considered with respect to safety, cost, performance, and comfort.
