Cooling fans offer greater and more immediate returns in airplane usefulness than is forthcoming from other developments along line of reducing thrust horsepower consumed in cooling; improvements in rate of climb, top speed at high altitudes, in ceiling, in useful load, and in cruising economy are obtainable on short notice from fan application.
