Icing and prevention techniques discussed with reference to carburetor, propeller, wings, windshield, and air speed equipment; results of experiments and present day equipment lead to conclusion that airplanes of future will probably be provided with wing and empennage surface heating as protection against ice; source of heat may be exhaust gas or fuel burning air heaters; service operations and further tests will provide answer.
