Ways in which electric railways are using buses and extent of their use are discussed; summary of replacement of rail service; more than 300 companies in United States and Canada are now operating approximately 10,700 buses in conjunction with their rail service; some 50 additional companies have entirely replaced their rail service, using over 500 buses for this purpose.
