Description of damage sustained by ship's structure under ordinary service conditions, dealing with such matters as cracks in shell plates in various parts of ship, damage to hold frame-bracket connections, deck supports, various portions of double-bottom structure, and troubles experienced at breaks of erections; usual methods of repairing such damage are described, and indication given of steps taken to prevent recurrence of trouble.
