Twin-screw cattle and cargo steamer built by Ardrossan Dockyard for British and Irish Steam Packet Co.; length b.p. 320 ft., gross tonnage 1597 tons; two-deck vessel, of poop, bridge, and forecastle type, with two short wells, together with upper forecastle decks, and boat deck amidships; propelling machinery constructed by John G. Kincaid and Co. to maintain speed of 13 3/4 knots, consists of two tripleexpansion engines having cylinders 16-in., 27 in., and 44-in. by 33-in. stroke; steam is supplied by two single-ended boilers.
