Control system is shown to be sized, in terms of required impulse capacity, by long term effects of gravity gradient and aerodynamic disturbances; reaction control propellant required to counteract disturbances is minimized by selection of attitude orientations which reduce external torques and by using momentum storage devices to counteract cyclic disturbances; examples of experimental mechanization with space station control system are described including earth surface tracking device, horizon spectrometry experiment and astronomical telescope.
