Feasibility of passive systems for removing wobble from rotating space stations is established, and approximate analytical approach developed based on energy dissipation approach of W.T.Thomson and G. S.Reiter; approach is valid for preliminary design purposes including rapid wobble decay rates; preliminary design of damping system for NASA 21-man space station is analyzed; it comprises three pendulums which, when excited by wobbling of space station, drive hydraulic dashpots, thereby attenuating wobble; worst-case expected wobble can be halved every three cycles; damper system weight approximately is 1.5% of over-all station weight.
