Analysis of unsteady aerodynamics associated with terminal shock occurring on cone-cylinder bodies at high subsonic speeds; quasi-steady techniques are used to account for effects of oscillations in bending or pitch on pressure gradient and boundary-layer buildup, i.e., on two parameters that control occurring flow separation; slender payload may, at high subsonic speeds, have aero-elastically destabilizing effects of two kinds; one is commonly occurring, linear, moderately undamping effect; other is rarely occurring, nonlinear, immensely undamping effect.
