Equations for Eotvos correction are derived in terms of parameters for earth's reference ellipsoid and aircraft altitude to degree of accuracy necessary to accommodate current jet transport speeds; distinction is made in equations between ground speed and aircraft velocity; differences from previously published formula are first order in earth's flattening, with values up to 11.2 mgal for 450-knot aircraft at midlatitudes.
