Electric powered wheels, which are individual prime movers, allow for truly module design; facilitate maintenance through removal of component rather than being tied up with mechanical power transmission system; electrical system makes it possible to supply more power to wheel that has more traction and one with less traction automatically cuts down its power requirement, releasing it to wheel with traction; earthmoving scraper trains and off road multiple haulage trains for rock and ore thus become reality.
