Close-support mission and its related avionic functions are described in terms of required series of tasks, including navigation to identification point (IP) and target, acquisition of IP and target and weapon delivery; method of evaluating avionic subsystems for their respective tasks is discussed, and analytical method of evaluating weapon system effectiveness is presented.
