System of centralized traffic control covering all of Netherlands Railways makes it possible to control whole railroad by 26 signalboxes; system, known as Quiktrol, was devised by General Railway Signal Co of Rochester, NY; control panels are of entrance-exit type; few individual lever control machines are used at small installations where speed is not governing factor; system is duplex in operation, and consists of two separate systems -- one for controls to effect changes in position of wayside apparatus and other for indications to report changes that occur in wayside apparatus at field locations.
