Launcher would be capable of putting payload of 220 lb in 300-mi polar orbit; first-stage BS606 consists of two Gamma 304 engines, using eight chambers arranged in four thrust units; chambers are swivelled as four pairs, two pairs giving pitch control, other two yaw control and all four moving together for roll control; second-stage, two-chamber BS625, based on Gamma/Black Knight technology, has nozzle extensions to give improved specific impulse in space; spin-stabilized third-stage has solid propellant motor; constructional details of Gamma 304, BS6, and BS625 engines, and control system for BS606 engine; cutaway drawing of 3-stage launcher.
