Divided hull, and longitudinal slide down construction systems were adopted to achieve total quality control at Tsurumi Shipyard of Nippon Kokan KK, Japan; two starting point system made it possible to reduce standard construction period to 75, 85 and 100 days for 30,000, 50,000 and 70,000 dw ton ships, respectively; adoption of so-called Kokan Quality Standards covering shipwright, fitting, welding, riveting, gas cutting and fairing conditions for construction.
