Paper illustrates results obtained from extensive tests of new material designed for use on outer surface of ship hulls; it is claimed to combat corrosion, marine growth and improve flow characteristics; investigation of suitable formulations based on PVC polymer, tests in salt water environment, etc, are reported; coating is thermosetting material and is applied under controlled conditions at steel mill.
