Advantages of hydrofoil-hydroduct system for propulsion of high speed surface craft led to investigation of axisymmetric air powered hydroduct to evaluate it thrust producing capability; thrust, inlet pressure, and mixing-chamber pressure were determined at speeds between 20 and 60 fps; maximum efficiency was 53% at thrust coefficient of 0.10; theoretical development of underwater ramjet cycle; method for including effect of choking.
