Development of new brazing techniques at Rocket-dyne, North American Aviation, Inc, Canoga Park, Calif, in manufacture of 200,000 lb-thrust, hydrogen fueled upper stage engine, J-2, and booster engine F-1; sectional furnace is used to braze high strength alloy tubes for thrust chamber which is sealed in alloy retort, enclosed by 2 halves of gas fired, brazing furnace capable of operating at 2300 F; development of nickel-chromium alloy retort for brazing.
