For spacecraft functions like attitude control with ullage rockets, propellant venting, and restart, exact location of propellants in its tanks at zero g must be known; based on experience gained at Lockheed Missiles and Space Co, parameters that affect propellant location in coasting flight, characteristics of propellant and liquid gas interface in tank, accelerations on tank system, and shape of tank and its internal hardware are reviewed; location can be determined with sufficient accuracy; venting methods used on various Agena models and their usefulness.
