Evolution of successful distributed suction boundary layer control systems at Mississippi State University is described; analysis of various high-lift aircraft has been performed to determine wing lift and increment of lift due to boundary layer control; operational problems of distributed suction boundary layer control aircraft and comparison with other means of achieving similar lift coefficients are presented.
