Methods of Calculus of Variations were employed to study and analyze problem of time-optimal trajectories between two points in range altitude space to investigate how form of thrust and drag laws affects time-optimal trajectory between two specific points; two forms of thrust and drag laws were used; model aircraft was assumed to have turbojet propulsion system; it was found that form of thrust and drag laws does not appreciably affect region of space in which optimal endpoints exist; optimal trajectory between two specific points was also plotted; difference between resultant trajectories was found negligible; actual time difference between flying optimal trajectory and straight line between two points was also investigated.
