Dynamometer for testing maintenance of way department cars, installed as regular piece of shop equipment by Lehigh Valley at Sayre, Pa; it serves to apply any desired load to wheels of car and to measure that load; it is used to determine condition of car, either before it is overhauled or afterward, and to furnish load for breaking in overhauled engine; when car is driving dynamometer, exact results of carburetor adjustments can be seen on output meters.
