It is claimed that, in spite of increased power of aircraft to fly at very high altitudes, height which can be reached by projectiles of large guns is far greater than that of bombing aircraft; another advantage to gun which accompanies its increase in size is swifter flight of shell to any altitude, to which may be added greater size of lethal sphere of destruction which surrounds bursting charge.
