To preclude improper functioning of signal circuits at infrequently used turnouts because of presence of rust on rails, Pennsylvania has adopted practice, which has been matter of experiment on one or two other roads, of inserting strips of copper in running surfaces of these rails; review of development of this practice; methods employed in making installations.
