New system of hydraulically operating water tight bulkhead doors aboard ship introduced by Glenfield and Kennedy, Kilmarnock; both horizontal and vertical sliding doors may be operated, motive power being supplied by Lockheed fluid admitted to double acting valve cylinders; combined mechanized and hydraulic door locks provided by means of which, door is rigidly held in position it has attained when power is cut off; diagram given.
