Investigation of design of walking vehicles is based to some extent on animal locomotion, typified in nature by millipede and centipede and analysis of mechanics of wave mode of walking carried out; numerical values are established representing possible vehicle size and its characteristics; static and propulsion analysis of all legs in stance phase; it is found that there appears to be significant agreement between theoretical and measured parameters for millipede; wave mode of walking locomotion appears to be promising basis for vehicles design on rough and soft ground; possible configuration is suggested.
