Facility was constructed in 1962 for use in analysis of dynamic behavior of motor vehicles; its first application was in study of stability characteristics of coupled mobility device (CMD), multivehicle, wheeled truck configuration, as part of design investigation of U S Army Tank- Automotive Center; general description of facility, its performance and principle of operation; example of stability test data obtained in previous rolling-road experiments is presented and discussed; recommendations are made for future studies of techniques of motor vehicle stability analysis.
