Economic study of performance of dual fuel locomotive fleet compared with similar number of engines operating on distillate fuel; dual fuel system utilizing light residual fuel of about 300-400 SSU at 100 F viscosity gave most satisfactory results with minimum expenditure for special equipment; all of data are based on this type; equations permit calculation of savings over any period of time with any number of locomotive units.
