Sixty subjects evaluated sound intensity of aircraft flying overhead; "noisiness" and "intrusiveness" rating scales were used for outdoor judgments; second criterion was also used for indoor tests; noise levels were expressed in dB(A) and PNdB; level just regarded as "noisy" outdoors was 93dB(A); comparison of indoor and outdoor tests showed that subjects made roughly same judgment on given aircraft although sound level indoors was reduced by building structure; results suggest that "noisiness" and "intrusiveness", like "loudness", follow power law of intensity.
