System outlined is designed to increase carrying capacity and to minimize crowding and waiting periods; system utilizes individual air-cushioned cars with capacity of about 25 passengers; cars take on and discharge passengers at periphery of continuously rotating platforms without coming to stop; transfers between local cars and express cars, can be effected without speed reduction of express cars; system described is shown to appear well adapted to automation, economic in power consumption, and can be introduced step-wise, initially utilizing conventional cars.
