Diesel engines now have definite place in farm tractor field, despite handicaps of higher fixed charges and repair parts costs, due to higher first cost and more expensive component parts, such as injection pumps and nozzles; they have shown remarkable fuel economy and excellent performance in practically all farm operations, life expectancy is equal to that of conventional gasoline engines, and labor charges for maintenance are little, if any, higher.
