Five different American manufacturers are building new and larger passenger airplanes of land or sea type; studies are now being conducted by these and other airplane builders into problems of building equipment larger than any now in service; author maintains that construction of airplanes of 200,000 to 300,000 lb gross awaits only order from operator who desires such equipment.
