Authors point out that automotive Diesel engine with its basically 25% to 40% lower fuel consumption permits utilization of high average vehicle speeds by providing up to 25% more reserve power for acceleration and hill climbing, at same time still producing fuel savings of 25% to 30%. (Trans)
