Problem of placing artificial satellite by means of 2 rockets into elliptical orbit, with maximum payload to initial weight ratio, was studied previously; rockets are idealized as impulses and effect of aerodynamic force is neglected; with assumption that both rockets have same specific impulse, it was found that optimum transfer trajectory is of Hohmann type; in general, specific impulses of 2 rockets may be quite different; in present paper optimum launching problem is investigated without restricting ratio of specific impulses of 2 rockets to unity.
